Our Process

Know what happens next, from the first call to the final paperwork.

A construction project feels more manageable when the stages, decisions, and responsibilities are clear. Choice Construction organizes the work around a nine-step process and communicates the property-specific details before construction begins.

The Choice Construction process

  1. 1

    Contact us.

Call or submit the request form. Tell us what you have noticed, the property type, the service you may need, and any important timeline.

  2. 2

    Schedule the inspection.

We coordinate a time to inspect the roof or exterior and confirm relevant access or contact information.

  3. 3

    Inspect the property.

We evaluate visible conditions related to the request and document relevant concerns.

  4. 4

    Review the findings and estimate.

We explain what we found, discuss the recommended next step, and provide an estimate when work is proposed.

  5. 5

Review the insurance scope when applicable.

For an insurance-related construction project, we can review the carrier's scope, identify construction items that may require clarification, and provide estimates or supporting documentation. The insurer determines coverage.

  6. 6

    Select materials and colors.

The customer selects from the approved options for the specific project. Exact products, colors, and related components are documented before ordering and installation.

  7. 7

    Schedule and complete the work.

We confirm project timing and relevant property-preparation details, then complete the approved construction scope. Weather and site conditions may affect scheduling.

  8. 8

    Final inspection and cleanup.

The work is reviewed, the job area is cleaned, and any closeout items are addressed according to the project scope.

  9. 9

    Final paperwork and warranties.

The customer receives applicable final documentation, the Choice Construction workmanship warranty, and applicable manufacturer warranty information.

Before construction begins, the approved project documents should clarify:

  • Included and excluded work
  • Materials and colors
  • Project price and payment schedule
  • Permit responsibility where required
  • Property access and preparation
  • Handling of hidden or unforeseen conditions, including damaged decking
  • Change-order process
  • Anticipated scheduling and weather considerations
  • Cleanup expectations
  • Workmanship and manufacturer warranty terms

Workmanship and manufacturer warranties

Choice Construction provides workmanship warranties along with applicable manufacturer warranties.

Workmanship warranty

This covers defined aspects of Choice Construction’s installation work according to the written warranty terms. Duration, coverage, exclusions, and the claim process are stated in the written warranty for the project.

Manufacturer warranty

Manufacturer coverage depends on the selected product and system. Terms may include eligibility requirements, registration steps, limitations, maintenance responsibilities, and exclusions. The applicable documents should be provided or identified for the customer’s project.

The two warranties are separate. The actual written terms for the specific project define the coverage.

Weather and scheduling

Exterior construction depends on safe and appropriate working conditions. Choice Construction communicates known scheduling changes and reschedules weather-affected work as the project requires.

Hidden conditions and change orders

Some conditions, including damaged or deteriorated decking, may not be visible until existing materials are removed. The contract should explain the pricing method and approval process for unforeseen work. Choice Construction communicates discovered conditions and follows the agreed change process before additional work proceeds, except where immediate action is necessary for safety or protection and the contract allows it.

Process questions

Will you pull permits if required?
Permit requirements depend on the city and the scope of work. When a permit is required, the written estimate or contract states who is responsible for obtaining it.
How does payment work?
Payment timing and methods depend on the approved project agreement. The written estimate or contract should state deposits, progress payments, final payment, and any insurance-related payment process.
How soon can the project be scheduled?
Scheduling depends on scope, material availability, weather, workload, and property requirements. Choice Construction will discuss anticipated timing for the specific project.
What happens at the final inspection?
The team reviews the completed work against the approved scope, addresses defined closeout items, completes cleanup, and provides applicable paperwork and warranties.

A better project begins with a clearer first step.
